This music video I shot on the same day as the Mr Zux video from my previous blog post. I shot the Mr Zux video in the morning and the NJE video in the afternoon. Of course this was another video shot on the little Canon S95.
The location for ‘Raw Like Chips’ was the old Slazenger warehouse in Alexandria. NJE had done a photo shoot in the same location and wanted to shoot this video there also. It was the first time I’d been there. There were roughly 3 large open spaces. Two downstairs and one upstairs. Definitely a fun place to shoot. While we were there, a lot of photographers were passing through as well, taking lots of photos.
Editing this took a while. With NJE videos, I usually always end up with more footage than I can hande but I eventually got there. Apparently a lot of people liked this more than previous videos I’d done for him. Maybe because of the monkey shots? Of course, I guess having a nice location like that helped too. And a few of the other interesting parts such as the cut away shots as well.
All the shots were pretty random too. Nothing was planned. With the long walk shot, I was holding both the stereo by its handle and the S95 on top. But it worked well and looked quite smooth.
Overall it was a good shoot. We just finished up as the sun was going down.
For the colour grade I gave it a blue look, which I think worked quite well. Nothing too flashy. I’ve included a few before and after shots below so you can see what I’ve done.
And lastly, below s a screenshot of the project in Vegas. By the way, clicking on any of these images will take you to their Flickr page where you view the full size image. In this case, by clicking on the + button to access the all sizes option.
