Hip-Hop workshops have proven to be a highly successful way to engage and empower Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) young people. Services are now commonly using Hip-Hop to attract young people to their centres, and utilising the medium as a platform to explore issues of health, welfare and employment.
Since 2002, HC staff have facilitated multiple groundbreaking Hip-Hop workshops for local youth centres, community services, and Juvenile Justice centres. Our program guides are catered to working with marginalised and at-risk young people, from 12-25 years of age.
Previous partnerships have seen HC work closely with Juvenile Justice, Mission Australia, Uniting Care Burnside, Traxside Youth Health Services, and Macarthur Migrant Resource Centre.

WE PROVIDE
- Specialist Artists/Facilitators: HC connects to a network of skilled Hip-Hop facilitators, who specialise in working with marginalised youth.
- Portable Studio Equipment. HC programs provide state-of-the-art digital recording equipment. All your service requires is the necessary space to conduct the workshops and a power point. Easy.
- CD Production Equipment: Most youth services contract HC to produce a CD compilation of the music recorded by the young people at their centre. In these instances, we also work with the young people to create the necessary artwork for the project.
- Song Writing Workshops: These sessions incorporate both lyric writing and structure, aswell as digital music/beat creation.
- MC/Rap Workshops: HC facilitators will work through exercises that help beginners to experts get their freestyling abilities in shape.
- DJ Workshops: The turntables, the records, the mixing and scratching, the works. You provide enthusiastic young people, and we provide the equipment and skills.
